For the most part, it is obvious that dense walls can effect a wireless network signal. But other things such as wireless phones can affect the quality also. If you are experiencing wireless connection problems see if you have a 2.4ghz wireless phone. Many people have claimed that they have had problems with a wireless connection whenever the phone rings.

Some people have also tried to change the channel of the wifi connection. To do this you need to know the IP address of you modem or router. It is like going to a website but you use an IP such as http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.2.1. These IPs are the common addresses. When go to these addresses you will be taken to a web page where you can change settings either on your modem or router. You may need to login. If you have not done this, it will be a default username and password. To get the default username and password see your manual or call tech. support. Also, keep in mind that you neighbors phone could interfere with the wireless signal.

I experienced a similar problem. When I bought my iPhone, I first checked with “Got Reception?” (Gotreception.com) It’s a great resource for finding out where reception problems are most likely to occur BEFORE you lock yourself with a specific carrier.
